Telford is a new town with modern amenities and transport links but the connurbation also includes Ironbridge which was the birth place of the Industrial Revolution. Ironbridge is now a World heritage Site and has a wealth of museums giving an insight into its industrial past. The crowning glory of these museums is Blist Hill Victorian Town but all are very intersting in their own way.
Shropshire is full of gems. Much Wenlock was the birth place of William Penny Brookes who was influential in bringing about the modern Olympic movement. Ludlow is reputed to have more Michelin Stars than any other place in the UK outside London and is a paradice for fine food lovers. Shrewsbury, our county town is steeped in history with a multitude of historic buidings all within the loop of the River Severn. Just to the East of Telford, about 10 minutes away is the RAF museum at Cosford.
Come and see for yourself - there is something for everybody and you will not be disappointed.
