Got back from the abbey hotel yesterday and did not enjoy my stay there at all. Firstly they tried to make us pay again, even though we had paid. Room was smallest iv ever stayed in, was not worth the money.
To many rules, e.g. if you got a stain on the bed you had to pay £10 for it to be washed, and £10 for any damages, yet someone had been in our room to clean and my make up bag had been moved, and eye shadows had been broken.
Theres a sign in the bathroom stating that if you want clean towels then put dirty ones in the shower and they will be replaced, we placed the towels we wanted to be replaced in the shower, then we came back later that afternoon and the wet towels had been hung up to dry and not been replaced. Toilet rolls was neither replaced.
Only ever saw one of the owners once, saw one of their mothers 99 of the time.
Breakfast were another bad experence. You get asked what you want, on my stay we had full englsh breakfasts, without black pudding. They got it wrong and the people ended up wth wrong breakfasts. Asked for things to come out well done, and eggs were completley raw! When stating they were raw we got told that thats how the eggs are always cooked there. Bacon had been done for hours and when it came out everything but the beans were cold.
Would never stay here again, and would advise other people not to stay here either.
