Holly Lodge is a beautifully appointed Georgian Grade II listed building that has been awarded four stars by the AA and the English Tourist board. The historic building dates back to the early 1800’s and oozes character and charm. We are a family run business that aims to offer you an enjoyable and comfortable stay, whether you are looking for a short city break, romantic weekend or a longer holiday, we can accommodate you.
We are ideally located, a short ten minute walk, or fifteen minute riverside stroll from the city centres attractions, whilst also conveniently located for the University, York Race course and the Designer Outlet.
Holly Lodge offers En suite bedrooms that are comfortable and well equipped. Wifi access is also available. The spacious lounge overlooks the garden and comes complete with a grand piano, and our traditional breakfasts are served in the cosy breakfast room which is still home to the original Aga.
We offer a buffet breakfast of assorted cereal and fruit which can be followed by our delicious traditional full English breakfast, using fresh ingredients and cooked to order they are the perfect way to start your day. We can also offer a vegetarian breakfast, fruits and many other alternatives subject to availability.
Guests can also make use of the delightful walled garden, which can be viewed from most of the rooms. Guaranteed onsite parking is also available within our walled grounds and is free of charge, a rare and valuable facility in the city of York.
The Holly Lodge has previously been awarded Guest house of the year by the York Tourist Board, and was a runner up in 2006. Holly Lodge is a comfortable and friendly establishment where you are always assured of a warm welcome!

Stopped at the holly lodge for three nights at the end of April. The staff were really friendly and helpful, the rooms were spacious and comfortable and the location is ideal.
On site parking is a massive bonus as i have struggled to park at guest houses in the past.
All round great guesthouse.
Would recommend the Holly Lodge to anyone visiting York.
