No 40 is a late Victorian 1896 property situated in the quiet and fashionable Bootham area of York: a 5 minute gentle stroll to the old city walls: a 10 minute stroll from the remarkable Minster and the many attractions in the city centre.

The ambience of No 40 is one of quality, taste and warm yet unobtrusive hospitality. Our aim is to provide guests with a relaxing base from which to experience this wonderful city and, if you have the time, the marvellous Dales and Moors of North Yorkshire or the nearby coast.
