East Prawle is situated in one of the most attractive and unspoilt parts of the South West peninsula, in the temperate and much loved South Hams. The surrounding area, within a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, comprises farmland and some of the most beautiful coastline in the British Isles. A paradise for walkers and bird watchers alike.

The rare Cirl Bunting can be seen here, and recent visitors included a Rose-Coloured Starling, a Red-Backed Shrike and a Buff-Breasted Sandpiper.

The renowned sailing town of Salcombe is about fifteen miles by road or two miles by passenger ferry across the Kingsbridge Estuary from East Portlemouth.

The historic naval town of Dartmouth with numerous shops and restaurants is about fifteen miles distant.
