About the Area
Seaton is a small, quiet seaside town in East Devon. It is on the Devon, Somerset, Dorset borders and lies on the Jurassic Coast, surrounded by an Area of Outstanding Beauty. There are numerous interesting walks, including a section of the 400 mile Coastal Path and East Devon Way. It has bus services across a wide area, which includes the Jurassic Coast service between Exeter and Poole. It is a short drive to Dartmoor and just 25 miles from Exeter and Taunton.
It has a very popular tramway across the marshland nature reserve, between Seaton and Colyton. There are attractions nearby, such as Pecorama, the Donkey Sanctuary and Crealy Park Adventure complex.
The town has tennis courts, bowls and putting and a cliff top golf course near to the River Axe. The river Axe is a very long river that winds through three counties, opening out into the Yacht club at the edge of Seaton.
Seaton Bay is beautifully set between Haven Cliff and the cliffs of Beer. Beer itself is a lovely and interesting old fishing village.
The area is served by many pubs, cafes and restaurants.
