Thanet House is a family run guest house in Alum Chine just a short stroll to the award winning seven-mile sandy beach of Bournemouth and Poole and the boutique shops and restaurants of nearby Westbourne village.

With the kind of sociable welcome and home comforts that no hotel could ever match we are confident that Thanet House will be a place that you will want to return to again and again.

Thanet House was built in 1884 as part of the Alum Chine Estate. Originally the mill owner¹s family home it stood on open heath land. The mill no longer remains but the beautiful woodland chine has been preserved and laid with footpaths offering a picturesque walks to the beach and cliff top.

Our home is your home, and we believe your stay should be as comfortable as possible. We have double, twin, family and single rooms, all with ensuite or private bathrooms. Every room is equipped with freeview television, alarm clock, hairdryer and complimentary fairtrade tea and coffee.
