About Stow on the Wold

Stow-on-the-Wold is a charming small Cotswold town, close to the Roman Fosse Way. The town square has an ancient cross and stocks and beautiful buildings constructed from Cotswold stone from local quarries. The surrounding villages, of Bourton on the Water, Moreton in Marsh and many others are within a few miles

This historical town was famous for its sheep fairs where as many as 20,000 sheep were sold at one time. The Cotswold Lion sheep is a rare breed still in existence.

Stow has many fine Antique shops, Art galleries, Gifts and Crafts and is a centre for Walking the Cotswolds countryside.

There are many stunning places to visit such as Blenheim Palace, Warwick Castle and the Shakespeare house all with 20 miles or so
