Cotswold bed and breakfast in the centre of Bourton on the Water. A warm welcome awaits you at Manor Close, a traditional stone built house situated on the high street of Bourton on the Water, one of the most popular of all the Cotswold villages. The Cotswolds occupy the area between Stratford, Oxford and Bath it is a refreshingly English place to stay.



Rooms

Manor Close is surrounded by a large pretty walled Victorian garden for guests to enjoy with outdoor seating provided. All of our ensuite rooms are tastefully furnished and deocorated to a high standard with comfort and cleanliness a priority. We have a ground floor room available and before you depart for the day we serve a hearty full English breakfast vegetarian available upon request all served in our light and airy dining room overlooking the garden. We are 1 minute level walk from all attractions and shops and have parking within our grounds.

About Bourton on the Water


Bourton on the Water is a central location to visit some of the most outstanding Cotswold villages.
Amongst the most popular, Chipping Campden with its beautiful thatched cottages, Stow on the Wold having history dating back to the wool trade and beyond. Also The Slaughters, two small villages nestling just outside of Bourton on the Water, a short walk for those who wish to sample the cotswold countryside. Bibury has the famous Arlington Row Cottages, featured in many period dramas and films. Sudeley Castle at Winchcombe boasts a rich Royal history, the Tomb of Queen Katherine of Parr one of Henry VIII wives, also Kind Richard III owned Sudelely. Blenheim Palace at Woodstock is just outside of the city of Oxford. There are also numerous gardens to visit including Hidcote one of the most famous and not forgetting Bourton on the Water itself with the small Venetian style bridges spanning the River Windrush, also in the village Birdland, The Model Village, The Motor Museum, The Perfumery, The Dragonfly Maze and of course the most important Tea Rooms serving Cotswold Cream Teas, there are also plenty of eating houses and cosy pubs. All in all this part of the Coswolds is well worth a visit.
The Cotswolds occupy the area between Stratford, Oxford, Bath and Gloucester it is a refreshingly English place to stay. Most people would agree that the Cotswolds are exceptionally beautiful, with picturesque cottages built in local honey coloured limestone, some with thatched roofs, others with handmade cotswold stone slates all these features give the area its unique appearance.
Bourton on the Water boasts a high number of tourist attractions, such as The Model Village which many years ago was built as a garden project and is now famous worldwide. Others include Birdland, The Motor Museum and The Perfumery where you can learn how to make your own perfume, as well as pubs, restaurants, shops and the all important tea rooms all situated around the village green where Cotswold stone bridges span the River Windrush giving Bourton the name The Venice of the Cotswolds.
Only 45 minutes drive away is Stratford Upon Avon famous of course for Shakespeare. Oxford for its colleges and museums and the making of the tv series Inspector Morse. Bath brings the Roman influence with the Roman Baths with all the history at its centre.
There are also castles one of the best preserved in the Country is Warwick Castle 15 minutes on from Stratford, and also Sudelely Castle at Winchcombe where there are many beautiful cotswold villages, namely Stanton and Stanway. Stanway has largest gravity fed fountain in the country. There are many, many more things to do and see, the Cotswolds are well worth a visit
