From the moment you arrive a warm welcome awaits you and your family, tea in the garden or conservatory. Jean serves a full English breakfast including fresh fruit salad, yoghurts and homemade preserves. All bedrooms have hostess trays and colour TV. Ideal for touring Oxford or the quiet picturesque village of the Cotswolds. Burford/Stow only 10 minutes, Oxford/Woodstock Blemhen Palace 30 min, Straford-upon-Avon 45 min. Garden such as Hidcot and Sezincote and National Trust properties are all within easy reach.

About the Area


Shipton Under Wychwood is the largest of the Wychwoods situated on the Oxfordshire/Gloucester boardes on the edge of the COTSWOLDS. It takes its name from the huge forest named after Hwicce who were an old English people which inhabited this territory 1500 years ago. There are only 4 square miles of forest left which is to the South West of Charlbury.
Shipton Court is one of the grandest Jacobean houses and was built in 1603.
The medieval town of Burford standing above the River Windrush is only 4 miles away.
North of the Windrush, reached by a bridge over 500 years old, stands Minster Lovell ruins.

Fairytale villages like Stow On The Wold, Rissingtons and the Slaughters are only a few miles away.
Heading further into the Cotswolds you must not miss villages like Snowshill, Chipping Campden and Broadway.
National Trust Properties close are Snowshill Manor - Charlecote park & house - Upton house & gardens - Buscot park - Chastleton House - Chedworth roman villa - Hidcote Manor Gardens.
