About the Area
Dorset lies on the beautiful World heritage Coast and referred to as the Jurassic Coast where you will find 185 million years of history and Weymouths coastline is a part of that and there are opportunities to fossil hunt. Weymouth has a gorgeous sandy beach with the sea and many activities for all the family. There are lots of things to see with the Sea Life Centre, Penguins, Otters, sharks and even crocodiles and the breeding of Seahorses an endangered species. The Norte Fort with its war museum with reenactments and a chance to sit at the Guns which were used to protect the coastline. We have many shops, clubs and restaurants plus the Condor Ferry terminal for day trips to Jersey and Guernsey. Only a short distance to the famous Chesil Beach and Portland Bill Lighthouse. There are several activities around the town and on the beach from May to September Folk Festival, Spirit of the Sea, Triathalon, beach Volleyball, Kite Festival, Beach Mototcross, plus the teriffic Weymouth Carnival in August and firework displays once a week during the summer season.
