Kendal House B&B, Near Silverstone in Towcester
23 July 2012 by Landers
This B&B booked because of proximity to Silverstone. Arrived and greeted by the owners and served a welcoming pot of tea. Lovely start. Sadly it went downhill from then on. We were shown to a room in the eves of the house and were told that it was a family members room. It looked like it complete with dartboard, cds dvd strewn everywhere and the bed looked like someone had just vacated it. We had booked an ensuite, but were shown the bathroom which was on the floor below. After pointing out that the booking was for a double en suite we were told that we could be moved into a flat which was self contained with lounge and kitchen. Sounded excellent so we agreed to move. What a dissapointment. The place was like a student flat, with clothes and belongings of the previous occupant in every cupboard, suitcase under the bed, the bathroom floor was dirty, no hairdryer, toiletries or hand towels. The standard of cleanliness left a lot to be desired and if the owner chooses to check the kitchen cupboard they will find that the onion has started to sprout! At £90 per night this was desperately disappointing. Even the breakfast was disappointing especially being given broken crockery! We will definitely never stay there again and could not recommend it to others.
