Pear Tree Farm is a purpose-built 4-star guest house with en-suite accommodation, onsite studio facility and off road parking. The property is set in an idyllic rural location in the beautiful Derbyshire Dales. Popular local attractions and market towns are easily accessible from Pear Tree Farm with Matlock Bath, Bakewell, and the Peak District all within a 10 -15 minute drive.

Pear Tree Farm has a rich and fascinating history. Sited within the Derwent Valley World Heritage site, the farm was a 17th century corn mill once owned by the Nightingale family who’s famous daughter Florence grew up in the local village. The surrounding landscape is steeped in history with Neolithic stone circles, stately homes such as Chatsworth and Haddon Hall as well as museums and art galleries all a short distance away.



Rooms

We have nine bedrooms four doubles, four twins and one family room. All rooms are en-suite with T.V & video player, towels, hairdryer and drinks tray provided. Two rooms are located on the ground floor and are suitable for wheelchair access.
We serve traditional hearty English food with full and half board options available. Our spacious guest lounge has a lovely wood burning stove, large TV, Video & DVD player and is the perfect place to relax. We have a patio area with tables & chairs as well as a gazebo and BBQ facilities by arrangement. We are fully licensed to serve a selection of wines, beers and spirits.

As an Art Centre as well as a B&B, our Art Courses are open to all, beginner and experienced artist alike and are tutored with a dedicated selection of internationally renowned artists. Our 2011 programme is underway and offers a wide range of workshops from acrylics to watercolours, oils and mixed-media. Please contact us for further details and a course brochure.

Adventure seekers, painters, walkers, cyclists and those looking for relaxation or retail therapy the local area has got it all! We have a strong tradition in providing a wide variety of activities with stately homes, gardens, canoeing, caving, climbing, museums and art galleries all within a short drive from Pear Tree Farm. Visitors can go back in time at nearby Crich Tramway museum and experience a tram ride on cobbled streets. Alternatively why not throw a pot at the internationally renowned Denby visitors centre and factory shop. For families visiting Pear Tree Farm, the cable cars at the Heights of Abraham and children’s adventure park of Gulliver’s Kingdom are only a stone’s throw away and provide hours of entertainment.
